Hurricane Predictions for 2012—Be Optimistic, but Be Ready

As the 2012 National Hurricane Conference wraps up, reports are coming in that warm waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean could mean a mild hurricane season this year.

2011 saw 19 tropical storms between June 1 and November 30, which ties last year for the third-busiest of all time with 1887, 1996, and 2010.

But according to Colorado State forecasters Philip Klotzbach and William Gray, this year could be much calmer. A warming tropical Pacific and a cooling tropical Atlantic are leading us to think that the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season will have less activity.

Auction sees slice of Queen’s wedding cake fetch £1,100


Princess Alice Hospice in Surrey has been given a cash boost after a slice of royal wedding cake helped to raise £1,100 at an auction.

Antique dealer Gordon Watson splashed out on the 65-year-old dessert in honour of the Diamond Jubilee, the Daily Mail reports.

Charity worker Anna Fiddimore discovered the piece of cake in a filing cabinet at the hospice and was shocked to see it bear the inscription: “Buckingham Palace 20th November 1947.”

The famous dessert is understood to have been bequeathed to the medical facility upon the death of CH Spackman, who was a guard at the wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip.

Mr Watson said of his unusual purchase: “I think its an amazing piece of history.

“Its our Queen we are about to celebrate her Jubilee – marrying her prince. I

Five Basic Features of Term Life Insurance

When shopping for term life insurance, there are basically five features that are most important to consider: the coverage, coverage period, person covered, types of term life coverage and the exclusion of the policy.

Coverage

The coverage is a term used for the value of the sum insured. This is also the amount of money that your beneficiaries will receive if in case the policy holder dies within the specified period of agreement. Unclaimed coverage goes to the insurance company if you outlive your policy.

Coverage period
