Learn Study USA Insurance Exclusions Before Buying

27 Jun 2010 Posted by Ashley Hall | Comments

Study USA insurance is an essential purchase for any international student visiting the U.S. It makes getting healthcare coverage during your time in the United States much easier and more affordable; however, students should be advised it does not cover every type of medical problem.

For instance, study USA insurance programs are primarily designed to offer students coverage on items that would either be classified as emergency care or procedures that must be undergone. So vision exams, hearing exams, eyeglasses, contact lenses, birth control, and cosmetic procedures are not covered by these policies.

Addtionally, pre-existing conditions are also not covered. You will need to disclose these prior to purchasing your policy, and it is a good idea to talk with a plan representative to find out if there are any exceptions to that rule.

These are just a few items that study USA insurance programs exclude, and you will want to carefully read your policy’s details to find a full list of what is and is not covered. Each policy may vary in this regard, so be careful to understand exactly ht sort of coverage you are getting.
